03 December 07 - 14:04Merry Christmas/Happy Birthday?!?!
So that's the dilemma my son has. Is it Merry Christmas or Happy Birthday? This weekend we pulled out the tree and decorations, lights and all. And what is the first thing out of his mouth: Happy Birthday! Apparently he doesn't remember last year's Christmas tree, lights, decorations, presents, etc. So we've been retraining him to say Merry Christmas. He's got "Christmas tree" down but every now and then he throws in a Happy Birthday.
But that's what I love about him. He knows it's a celebration. He's not really sure what we're celebrating yet but he knows something is different. It simply reminds me to celebrate. This is the time of year we (tradition) celebrate Christ's birth. That's what I need to remember so God not only sent His Son but he also gave me my son to help me remember that no matter what I hear (Happy Birthday or Merry Christmas) to remember that it's a celebration of Christ and not trees, decorations, ...
